In the most remote corners of the earth, magic is still alive, embodied by spirits of the land, the air and every other element. As the colonial territories of Europe's great powers continue to expand, they inevitably eventually lay claim to areas where the spirits still hold power – and once that happens, the country itself will fight the invaders with its inhabitants. In the complex and thematic co-op game Spirit Island, players take on the roles of the ghosts and must protect their island from colonization by the invaders. Each spirit has different abilities at its disposal, but only hand in hand will they be able to defend their homeland and maintain their presence.
